buffy is equal parts very interested/turned on by darker kink, and ashamed of her own impulses in that department. the desire for it is always there, but she needs a little push to go that direction — usually via frustration/annoyance. buffy is a true switch and can fit roles all across the d/s spectrum, but she falls more instinctively on the side of control freak and therefore dominant. regardless, there will always be a power struggle. she's bratty and bitey and fighty, and the victory of winning or the satisfaction of being put in her place are equally enticing to her.
